Wissahickon Gorge There are 57 miles of trails in this lush, 1,800-acre gorge, crossing forest and meadow before plunging down to the sun-dappled waters of the Wissahickon Creek. You’ll find yourself lost in a feeling of wilderness as you walk, bike or ride your horse through this undisputed gem of Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park system.

Kitchens Lane Turn off of Wissahickon Avenue onto Kitchen’s Lane and keep left as you continue down the hill. Parking is at the end of the road. Just a short walk to the creek at the end of the trail.

June 19th 1-3 PM. Meet at Cedars House–Northwestern Ave. and Forbidden Drive.Learn about the former Andorra Nursery and visit the Wissahickon Environmental Center. See the Great Beech and the Fallen Magnolia! Wear good sneakers or hiking boots. Distance: 3 miles through woods and Andorra Meadow to the WEC and back. Level: moderate.

Thursday Tots – June 16, 1-2PM Bring your little one for an hour of discovery at the Tree House. Each month we will explore a new topic that celebrates the season.  Bring your picnic lunch, for a picnic under the dogwood trees. Ages 3-5.
