It may not be the most common situation, but suppose you have an extra room in your home you don’t necessarily need. What do you do with it? Or if you use a room now, but might not need it in the future, what could you do with it? There are plenty of ideas to fill an extra room and also get good use out of it.
- A game room with some board games, a pool table, couches and maybe even a bar can make an empty room a play room for adults. The game room can also be as stylish as you want. Just because it’s a getaway room, doesn’t mean it can’t be decorated in your favorite style.
- A theater or movie room is another great way to make use of an extra room. Use a projector on a blank wall or mount a TV and place comfy seating in rows and it will feel just like a movie theater! Add tables and chairs next to seats for snacks and drinks while you watch. If you don’t want the exact movie theater feel, a TV and comfortable seating wherever you want is all you really need.
- A home library can be a great place to organize your books. Filling shelves with all types of books and movies can add up quickly, even if you think you’re not exactly a book worm, it’s a great storage idea! Then it will be there for you to access whenever you want for a good read.
- If you have craft materials scattered throughout your house, or even if you want to start getting into crafting, a craft room might be a good idea for that extra room. With storage for all your materials and a table and chair to work at while you craft and let your imagination run, it could become your new favorite room! It doesn’t have to be fancy and over the top with crafts, a small space to work at with spots for all of your belongings will get you started.
- The most common of them all, a guest room. For whenever family or friends want to come visit, you can have the perfect place for them to stay, ready at all times! A well decorated, comfortable room will feel welcoming to all of your guests.
- A play room can be fun for both kids and adults. It’s a place where kids can keep all of their toys and play without disturbing the rest of the house. Decorate it to make it kid friendly and organize it with shelves for storage as well as seats and you and your kids can have fun in the play room.
- Whether your a writer, a reader, or if you need it for work, a home office can make a great extra room. No matter what you may use it for, you deserve your own space to work on what you want!
