Top Philadelphia October Events

Philadelphia is always busy with fun events to attend, and here’s a guide for the city’s October events coming up! A wide variety of activities will take place including the Harry Potter Festival, a brand new Cheese Steak Festival and Arts festivals like The Mural Arts.

1. The Harry Potter Festival returns to Chestnut Hill October 16th and 17th in which the festivities start off with a pub crawl throughout the area on Friday, and continue on Saturday with Horcrux scavenger hunt, a fall maze at Woodmere Art Museum, Defense Against the Dark Arts classes, sorting hat demonstrations, fortune tellers and more.

2. Philadelphia’s First Ever Cheese Steak Festival is happening this October 24th a the Lincoln Financial Field. More than 40 cheesesteaks from around the city will be shown at the festival. Customers can sample traditional cheesesteaks, specialty creations and even taste vegetarian or gluten-free variations. The highlight of the festival will be a world record-breaking attempt at creating a 450-foot-long cheeseteak on Lincoln Financial Field!!

3. This October, The Mural Arts Program is introducing Open Source: Engaging Audiences in Public Space. Organized by well-known artist Pedro Alonzo, Mural Arts has gotten local and international artists to create a series of pieces in an outdoor temporary exhibition that highlights the views of the Mural Arts.
