There are plenty of reasons to love South Philadelphia and from personal experience of living there, Brandon Baker, a member of PhillyVoice staff, wrote an article of why this is the best neighborhood in the city of Philadelphia. He gives good advice on local places to visit for everyday tasks, such as grabbing a cup of coffee before starting your day.

He raves about Ultimo’s $2.65 cup of coffee that will definitely satisfy any caffeine lover and claims that other places coffee is just too weak to get just one cup.

Easy Passayunk Avenue offers a great deal of diversity from antique stores, boutiques like Metro Men’s, top-rated restaurants such as Stateside, the craft beer utopia that is The Bottle Shop, and much more!

The Italian Market is another great place to visit in South Philly according to this article. With delicious places like Santucci’s, Veracruzana, Anthony’s Italian Coffee House, DiBruno Bros, Isgro’s, you can’t go wrong! The locations on where to get any sort of delectable food and drink are endless in this area.

Another good thing about South Philly that is not so obvious is Christmas time! Brandon writes about the holiday season in Philadelphia as going  “beyond the ‘Merry Christmas’ banners strung on and just off East Passyunk Avenue and the green-and-red bulbs that illuminate streetscapes. It’s less about the lights and more about the love.” Streets are filled with Christmas decorations and holiday spirit to lift up anyone’s mood.
