The 500 year old Chinkapin Oak is 73 feet tall, 21 feet wide and covers over 118 feet with its canopy. The Delaware Indians regarded the sacred oak\u00a0as a shrine tree; legend has it that a powerful chief visited the tree when his wife was gravely ill and upon his return, she miraculously healed. The Sacred Oak is on the Pennsylvania Forestry Association&#8217;s Champion Trees of Pennsylvania website and has it&#8217;s own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheSacredOak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook Page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Due to a change in property ownership, if you visit the Sacred Oak, please stop at the house nearby and ask permission.
