When you live at <\/span>Siena Place<\/span><\/a>, you are close to the amazing and historic FDR Park, a green oasis in South Philadelphia. With its beautiful natural resources including fields and lakes, FDR Park is the ideal retreat for all ages and personalities for relaxation and recreation. From fishing to golfing, boating to baseball, this park has it all. The Friends of FDR Park is a nonprofit volunteer-run organization that works in partnership with <\/span>Philadelphia Parks & Recreation<\/span><\/a> and the nonprofit <\/span>Fairmount Park Conservancy<\/span><\/a> to support and steward FDR Park. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is responsible for maintenance and permitting of the park, while the Friends of FDR Park organizes fellow volunteers in planting, greening, fundraising and programming the park.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Visit The Academy of Natural Sciences\u00a0<\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n

This new exhibit<\/span><\/a> displays 100 stunning images of nature and wildlife from the world\u2019s best nature photojournalists. The exhibition is the first to be displayed in the dramatic new William B. Dietrich Gallery, a 3,000-square-foot gallery that houses the exhibit and is the first large space in a decade at the museum to be dedicated solely to exhibitions. Read up on <\/span>the museum\u2019s latest safety precautions<\/span><\/a>, and note that purchasing advance tickets is highly recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n

Catch A Drive-in Movie or Concert<\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n

Close to Siena Place, Citizens Bank Park and The Navy Yard will offer comedy shows, concerts and drive-in movies for your outdoor enjoyment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Visit Shofuso<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Designed by architect Junzo Yoshimura, Shofuso was built in Japan in 1953 using traditional techniques and materials. It was shipped to New York and exhibited in the courtyard of the Museum of Modern Art in New York before moving to West Fairmount Park in 1958. This historic site and museum includes a hill and pond garden with a tiered waterfall, island, and koi fish, a tea garden featuring a traditional tea house, and a courtyard garden leading to a bathhouse. This is such a unique attraction right in Fairmount Park.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
